Skill Session: Goalie Dropsteps

Using drop steps as a goalie for cross crease saves

The goalie drop step is a quick, efficient movement used when shifting laterally across the crease after a skip pass. Instead of crossing their feet, the goalie leads with their back foot, “dropping” it in the direction of the ball to stay balanced and square. This technique allows them to cover ground quickly while maintaining proper angle and ready stance for the shot.
