Summary

A great way to incorporate principles of play into your man up offense

Our EMO is a great way for players to still work within a free flowing read and react type offense, rather than set plays. Often times with set plays, when they break down kids won’t know how to regroup, they just try to run the play again. This model is a constant free flow teaching young players how to play these situations, which will carry over into playing against 6v6 Zone Defense

Principles

  • Spacing – Stay preach, put 1 player on the crease, and don’t let 1 defender guard 2 players
  • Ball Movment – Quick ball movement automatically forces the defense to rotate. The quick we move the ball and make decisions, scoring opportunities will develop
  • Attacking Gaps – If we dodge, we want to attack the open gaps between defenders, that will force them to slide and rotate
  • Off Ball Movement – When a ball carrier comes at you, the adjacent player drifts and the next player cuts. This allows for balanced movement and spacing if you need it
