Defensive Body & Stick Positioning (Holstered): Mastering Control and Disruption
In this session, goalies learn the fundamentals of defensive positioning, focusing on maintaining an athletic stance. Goalies are taught to keep the chest up and avoid leaning forward, instead bending from the knees to maintain balance. The hips should be angled for better control, guiding the offensive player while staying in control of the play. The session emphasizes using the stick in a holstered position to disrupt the offensive player’s movements and maintain defensive control.
