A drill to work on spacing and reading defense
Set Up
Use cones to create concepts of where players should be, high wings and crease. The ball starts with our high righty wing dodger, and a coach is guarding the other wing middie. As they dodge, the crease player will mirror and other will drift. If coach holds on the wing, player gets down hill for a shot. If defense slides, player passes to wing for a step down shot
Coaching Points & Principles
- Spacing – Need to maintain space for our dodgers
- Shooting – Step downs, and On the run
