Getting Squared Drill

Summary

A great drill for young players, that emphasizes on body turn and staying square through a shot!

Set Up

If your field has lines that form a “V” (such as the corner of the field or where restraining box lines intersect), use those as guides. If you’re on grass or in the backyard without lines, place two sticks in a “V” shape. Start in your ready position at the point of the “V,” facing forward, and on the coach’s whistle, move to either side as if making a save, staying square to the line throughout.
