Set Up
Divide players into groups of five and set up two lines facing each other, 10–15 yards apart. Place a cone in the middle between the lines, and a second cone 5–8 yards beyond it, creating a straight-line (“I”) shape. Start with one player at the middle cone.
The drill begins with a pass from a player in line to the player at the middle cone. After receiving the pass, the middle player drops the ball at their feet. The passer follows their pass, scoops the ground ball on the run, accelerates around the far cone, and curls back toward the middle.
As the ground ball player rounds the cone, the original receiver breaks away from the middle cone to create space for an over-the-shoulder pass. The ground ball player delivers the pass, the receiver catches it on the move, and then passes to the next player in line. The player who scooped the ground ball becomes the new middle player, and the drill repeats continuously.

- Lead the receiver with the over-the-shoulder pass.
- Catch and move without slowing down.
- Communicate early and often.
Progressions
- Make the cones further apart for longer passes
- Add a little contested GB with a light check
