Set Up

Give an offensive player the ball, with a defender guarding them. They will run about 50%, and the offensive player will stop, go, change direction, within a 10-15 yard space. The defender must run under control thinking about staying balanced and maintaining proper stick positioning

Coaching Points & Principles

  • Stay balanced and player under control. Defend with your feet, not your stick!
  • Try to keep your stick upfield in the direction where the player is running
  • You want to trail slightly and not overplay or underplay the space
