A great drill to work on team spacing with the 2-3 player game

Set Up

Split the field in half, with cones open on the backside for the attack. The rules are:

  • The only area the players are allowed to play on the wing side and backside crease area

It’s a live 3v3 within the playing area constraints. Offense should use picks and shallow cuts from the wings to create space and advantages. If the ball pushes through X, the player can carry to the backside low area to score, or keep the ball moving

Coaching Points & Principles

  • 2 Player Game – working on picks and spacing, playing in with tight spaces
  • Defense – Communicate through picks, you can use switch, stays, or doubles
  • Playing quick – reps should be 10-15 seconds
