SET UP
Put 5 offense and 5 defensive players on the field. All offensive players have a number, 1-5. The drill starts with the offensive team moving the ball around the perimeter, while the defense plays accordingly. Once coach yells out a number, that offensive player will be the one to attack the goal, next time they touch it. The player can iso, call for a pick/2 man game, or be the feeder for a player off ball cutting. The goal is for the offensive to create scoring opportunities quickly once we start attacking the goal
PRINCIPLES & COACHING POINTS
- Defense – Coverage on and off ball, communication, and anticipation
- Offense – finding ways to attack the goal in given situation. Motion and movement
PROGRESSIONS
- Coach can give instructions for the type of possession (Iso, pick, etc..)
- Put players in 4v4 or 3v3 for more space, or 6v6 to provide less space
