Set Up

Put two lines about 8-10 yards apart. This is a continuous drill, so the second player in each line needs to be ready. Start with a pass in either direction, for a step down shot. As soon as the pass is made, the 2nd player in line (from line that is shooting) passes up to the second line for a step down. Keep executing in that manner and add in some rules like targets to hit in the goal.

Coaching Points and Principles

  • Shooters want to get in a shooting position so they can load up immediately off the pass.
  • Quick release, we want the shots to get off quickly
  • Goal Scoring – try and hit far side pipe, high to low.
  • Ask players to change up shot location every time for variation

Progressions

  • Do in different areas of the field for other shot types
