Up The Hash Shooting

A great shooting drill that works on getting your body back to the goal, when attacking from behind the goal to the 5×5

Set Up

Put a cone about 5 yards away from goal on Goal Line Extended, and another cone 2-3 yards ahead of that. The players will start on 1 leg and one hand on their stick with it forward. They will then take 3 steps, drive off the inside foot, and get a shot off getting their hips and shoulders back to the goal.

Coaching Points and Principles

  • Make sure they are planting off that inside foot
  • Get your hands in a comfortable loaded position, shooting overhand
  • Finish high to low
  • Get hips and Shoulders back to cage

Progressions

  • Start with a dodge, 50% speed to full speed
