Put and offensive player with the ball, and a defensive player guarding them. At 50% speed, have the ball carrier run, and the defender will work on their quick slap and lift check. Got for 10 yards, and run through all your players getting maximum reps. This is a great check for any young player to learn, and carry through until they player at the higher levels
Coaching Points & Principles
The slap should be a quick short slap. We want to make contact with the players anchor (bottom) hand when they are cradling 2 handed.
Once you execute the slap, we want to get our stick under that anchor hand, and lift up.
Stay under control, if you slap too hard, or lift too much, you can get off balance.
