Set Up
Put players in the sidelines, in groups of 4 or 5. You can place a cone about 8 yards away for consistent spacing or you can use the lines not he field. We will do various progressions but for this drill we are working on curls and qb passes
- Curls/Roll Away – When player approaches the end point, they will pop their hands/stick out and away from body, exchange hands and make a pass to their teammate
- QB Passes – As the player approaches the end point, they will bounce out like a quarterback in football, opening up their hips, and stepping to their teammate for a pass. We are not Exchanging hands here
Do each rep for about 1-2 minutes, and then change hands
Coaching Points and Principles
- Stickwork, we want to make sure the players are protecting their stick, and not hanging in on the curl/roll back
- Good passes – players should be under control making good passes to their teammates.
- Players in line should be waiting for the ball with their sticks up as a target
