Summary

A great way to start to start practice to get the sticks warm and work on some creative skills

Ff Partner Plus Alley Preview

Set Up

Put your players in pairs, and line them up on one side of the field, goal line extended. Players should be about 10 yards apart. In pairs, they are going to work on passing while moving upfield to the far goal line. There are 2 progressions:

  1. Catch and throw with the sticks upfield
  2. Catch with inside hand, exchange, and thrown with upheld hand

Once players get the to far side, each pair will go to the alley together, and come back to the original end. while they are moving down the alley, you have have them do 1 of 3 things

  1. Ground Balls
  2. Gooses, Kicks, etc..
  3. Creative skills (Behind the Backs, underhand flips, etc..)

Coaching Points & Principles

  • Upfield passing, players should NOT be shuffling. Their hips are running up field
  • Make sure players receiving passes are giving targets
  • Alley work, don’t focus too much on speed, more on executing those skills correctly, while running 50-75%
