Summary

A great way to incorporate principles of play into your team defense

Our man down defense acts a 4 player rotation, with principles applied. If the offense puts a player on the crease, we always have a man guarding it. If they are open, we stay open and play a 5-out defense. If the offense sends a player to the crease, defender will follow and become the crease player

Principles

  • Protecting the House is our #1 rule and principle. This means everyone Off ball needs to be supporting in and protecting the house
  • 1 Player always guards ball, 2 adjacent players showing for support, and backside gets in the house
  • If the offense carries and rotates, we stay with our man until we find ourselves back in the set general zone area of play
