Bench Press Walks is a partner passing drill for intermediate through advanced players that develops rotational power, passing strength, and accuracy while moving.

SET UP

Pair players about 5 yards apart and have them move down the field together. The passer rotates, presses, and throwsto their partner, then moves ahead as the receiver catches, resets, and returns the pass. Continue alternating down the field while maintaining the designated distance. Progress by increasing the distance between partners to challenge passing power and accuracy.

COACHING POINTS & PRINCIPLES

  • Rotate & Press: Use body rotation and drive the hands through the pass to generate power.
  • Catch & Reset: Secure each pass, quickly reset the hands, and prepare to deliver the next throw.
  • Maintain Distance: Stay connected with your partner while moving, adjusting the passing distance based on skill level.
