Set Up

Put a goalie in net, a defensive line down on low goal line extended, and then add 3 perimeter offensive lines. One at the point, and 1 on each wing. Use the girls fan arch to help with spacing. The offense will hold their positions and play 3v2 agains the defense who is always rotating to put on-ball pressure. We are looking to a step down shot from the offense (10-12 yards away from goal), we are not take close range shots.

Coaching Points & Principles

  • Offense – Move the ball quick and Catch the ball loaded and ready to shoot! the quicker we can get the ball out of our stick, the better chance of getting a high % shot without pressure
  • Defense – We need to constantly rotate to pressure on ball and have backside support. We want to work in an “I” formation here

Progressions

  • Add in constraints like only shooting from strong side, changing planes, etc..
