Set Up

Put players in 2 line at the top restraining box, about 8 yards apart. Use a cone or coach in the middle of the field in between players an the goal. Both players go at the same time, they dodge down ahead, split and exchange hands and getting to the middle of the field, and back down hill for the shot on the run. After they shoot, then run around the cage and then back up to the lines.

Coaching Points & Principles

  • Dodging – Change speeds, exploding out of the split
  • Shooting on the run – Get back down hill, don’t shoot running to sideline (which is why players finish running around the goal)
  • Release – Try and shoot right out of the dodge, the longer you hold it, then less realistic the shot is
